What was the highlight of Palace Hotel & SPA La CONCHIGLIA D' ORO
Comfortable, but overpriced
We have stayed here several times. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Beds are comfortable. Good shower. Breakfast is always great.
One side of the hotel is on a busy street. Trains run on the other side of the hotel. However, it is pretty quiet with windows closed. Dogs are only allowed in more expensive rooms, then there is an extra charge of 20 Euro per night. The extra 40+ Euro per night (with the room upgrade) for our small dog is excessive. We mainly come here for the restaurant which we have been coming to for 22 years. The past 3 times have been very disappointing. This time, the food was inedible. The owner's sister was in charge and she was extremely rude to us, making sure that staff ignored us and served us terrible food. We will not return to the restaurant. Since we only use this hotel for the restaurant, we won't be back to the hotel either. There are much better options in Vicenza for much lower prices, especially if traveling with a dog.

Best hotel for the price in Vicenza.
Great breakfast. Fresh made juice. Eggs to order. Wonderful staff. Very clean. Cleaners were wonderful. Nearby public transportation. The restaurant in the hotel is the absolute best quality to value in Vicenza. Was in the top 3 after three years. One of the best restaurants in Italy to be honest. From seafood to florentina steak.
Water wasn’t hot at night sometimes. Pillows were a bit hard and flat in our first room. They changed the room and were very accommodating. Close to train station but they have very good windows so the noise was barely noticeable.

Good
It wasn't too far from the historical center. Enjoyed the hot tub on the roof. Free Parking and balcony were a plus. Restaurant attached to the hotel was good, great food with decent price, even though because of italian vacation and closing of some business we couldn't take advantage of it through out our saty.
There wasnt a constancy among staff attitudes, some were very polite and helpful, some not.
